About Daugthers of Freedom Uganda

Founded in 2010 and officially registered in 2020, Daughters of Freedom Uganda (DOFU) is a dedicated non-governmental organization focused on combating sex trafficking and empowering at-risk girls and survivors. Our vision is a world free from sex trafficking, ensuring that every girl can live with dignity, safety, and opportunities. Our Mission DOFU aims to empower at-risk girls and victims of sex trafficking through a comprehensive approach encompassing prevention, care, and resilience-building. We are committed to providing essential resources and support, helping individuals who have faced unimaginable challenges thrive within a safe community. Our Approach Prevention: We protect at-risk girls aged 10-18 through education and community engagement initiatives, reducing vulnerabilities and empowering them to make informed choices. Comprehensive Care: We offer holistic services to survivors, including psychological support, medical assistance, legal aid, and vocational training, addressing their physical, emotional, and economic needs. Resilience Preparation: We prepare survivors for a resilient future by equipping them with skills and educational opportunities to reintegrate into society and pursue their ambitions. Community Safety: We foster safe environments by engaging local communities in advocacy and awareness campaigns, promoting support networks for vulnerable girls. Innovation and Advocacy: We leverage technology and advocate for policies that strengthen systems to combat trafficking and protect the rights of girls. Our Impact Since our inception, DOFU has rescued, rehabilitated, and reintegrated over 450 survivors and protected more than 1,500 at-risk girls through effective prevention programs. Our work significantly raises community awareness and contributes to local and national efforts against trafficking. At Daughters of Freedom Uganda, we believe every girl deserves the chance to pursue her dreams without fear.
