About Defence of Human Rights Pakistan

Defence of Human Rights and Public Service trust, (DHR) Pakistan, is an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization that was born out of the personal experience of the deprivation of human rights of the victims of enforced disappearances and torture in 2006. Enforced Disappearance of citizens is a form of torture not only for the victims but for the families of the victims as well. DHR’s prime work involves striving for freedom, democracy, and the rule of law through awareness and action such as documentation, running campaigns, protest demonstrations, lobbying with the power circles, and providing legal, psychosocial, and economic aid to the victims of enforced disappearances and torture.
