About Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal Government

Since its establishment in 1980, the SDRC, closely focusing on the important tasks in different periods of Shanghais reform and opening-up, has been setting up various public decision-making research and consulting platform, works with experts and scholars from home and abroad and organizes and conducts researches. It offers advice concerning Shanghais economic and social development, which includes those issues on Shanghais reform and opening-up, the building of Shanghai into four centers(international economic, financial, trade and shipping centers), the holding of Expo 2010, the development of service economy, the guidelines on Shanghai’s 10th， 11th, 12th until to the 13th Five-Year Plan and the development strategy of Shanghai in the Next 30 Years coordinated by the SDRC at present. It has submitted a large number of high-quality research results and practical policy proposals to Shanghai Authority and offered strong intellectual support for Shanghais reform and opening-up and economic and social development.
