About Digital Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Information Disorder Analysis Centre (DAIDAC)

DAIDAC is the digital research hub of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID). Recognising the pivotal role of emerging digital technologies and artificial intelligence in shaping our world, DAIDAC was established to extend our focus beyond information disorder. Our mission is to explore, analyse, and provide solutions to the challenges and opportunities presented by digital technology and artificial intelligence, while expanding CJID's critical fight against information disorder. We strive to safeguard African democracies, empower citizens with accurate information and ensure responsible use of AI and digital technologies. Therefore, we address three key issues: - The safety of the African digital information space from internal and external influences to undermine African democracies. - The safety of citizens on the internet as they harness the power of digital advantages - Ensure that citizens, the public sector, and civil society are aligned on matters of internet (digital) governance, including digital rights and digital access.
