The Disaster Health Institute (DHI) is an independent, mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to advancing the global convergence of disaster medicine, public health, and health-system resilience. DHI builds cross-sector partnerships, develops evidence-based training and pracademic research programs, and supports international policy innovation to strengthen preparedness and response to disasters, conflicts, and large-scale health emergencies. Through a transdisciplinary approach grounded in science, operational experience, and global collaboration, DHI works to reduce harm, improve medical outcomes, and promote resilient communities worldwide. We aspire to lead a transdisciplinary movement integrating civil protection, public health, and medical sectors worldwide—driving collaborative research, uniting organizations, and shaping the next global health framework beyond Sendai to strengthen resilience in the face of 21st-century crises.
