About Docent

Docent is the first AI-powered mobile application to offer a fully personalized experience for discovering and collecting contemporary art. We cater to both newcomers and seasoned art collectors, providing a reliable platform that connects individuals with artworks they’ll truly love and want to collect. Founded in 2020 by Hélène Nguyen-Ban, a passionate collector and former gallerist with a decade of experience in luxury at LVMH, and Mathieu Rosenbaum, a researcher and professor of Applied Mathematics at École Polytechnique, Docent is an art-tech startup at the intersection of art and artificial intelligence. Forging an alliance between AI experts and art historians, Docent pioneers a new era in art discovery. We developed proprietary algorithms using machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, to curate bespoke recommendations of contemporary art. This advanced technology not only discerns artistic nuances and collector preferences but also ensures that partner galleries offer artworks of unmatched quality and significance. Docent isn’t just about finding art – it’s about embarking on a personalized journey, tailored to each collector’s tastes and interests. From discovering hidden gems to acquiring new masterpieces, Docent encourages exploration beyond the comfort zones, and into the unchartered. Our ultimate goal is to transform the art collecting experience into an inspiring journey accessible to a broader audience. By doing so, we also aim to create a virtuous cycle, fostering the emergence of a new generation of art enthusiasts and collectors, all while revitalizing the market for galleries and today’s leading artists.
