About Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre

We’re a small, dedicated team supported by amazing volunteers. We work tirelessly to care for stray and unwanted dogs across Dumfries and Galloway. Established in 2003, our Rescue Centre has helped over 5,000 dogs find loving homes. We cover the whole of Dumfries and Galloway, taking in stray and surrendered dogs and matching them with new homes. When space permits, we take in dogs from pounds in England and Northern Ireland to save them from destruction. All dogs in our care are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered (or leave with a voucher), and health-checked. We conduct home visits wherever possible and provide full post-adoption support. We are proud that so many lives have been enriched by the companionship of our dogs. Our reach extends beyond Dumfries and Galloway, and we have rehomed dogs from as far afield as Orkney to Dorset!
