About Dynamic Public Library Nepal

Dynamic Public Library (DPL) Nepal is a non-profit organization providing essential resources and educational and leadership development opportunities to communities across Nepal. Opened in 2012, DPL is headquartered in Damak, in the eastern district of Jhapa, and there are now 15 branches of DPL across the country. DPL serves as a hub for free and open access to books, digital resources, training programs and community service projects that all serve the diverse needs of the local population. A cornerstone of DPL are the DPL Youth Teams which are composed of both young adults and the young-at-heart who work cooperatively on a wide range of projects including literacy and digital literacy training programs, blood donation drives, and community cleanups. DPL Child Teams focus on fostering educational and skill development of children throughout the country as well. DPL sponsors scholarships for promising students with financial need and/or special needs who would otherwise not have the opportunity to pursue further education. In addition, DPL works with local governments and other organizations to provide opportunities for lifelong learning and skills development for all community members, regardless of their age, gender, abilities or socioeconomic status.
