About EcoDeltaV
EcoDeltaV spun out of a multi-year project initiated by the European Space Agency’s Future Launchers Preparatory Program (ESA’s FLPP) and led by the Space Center of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Between 2022 and 2025, EPFL Space center’s expertise in space sustainability was distilled into the conception of the Assessment and Comparison Tool (ACT), creating a much-needed means for the space industry to integrate environmental impact assessment into the design process of space missions. Today, EcoDeltaV carries the legacy of the EPFL Space Center’ s space sustainability expertise and combines specialized knowledge in launcher emissions from the University of Stuttgart. With this, the team is ready to help your space company to comply with environmental requirements and regulations on sustainability. The ACT is a software for simplified, space-specific, (prospective) life cycle assessment. The tool incorporates space-specific impacts and emissions such as a space debris index, as well as high-atmospheric emissions during launch and re-entry. ACT includes the ESA REACH tool to highlight the substances that are present in the inventory of the model, and which might cause an obsolescence / supply risk. Reach out to us if you need dedicated help on the life cycle assessment or environmental impact analysis of your space system. Equally, if you want to perform LCAs in-house, you can join our Beta-Testers and Early Adopter of ACT!
