Ecopetrol is Colombias largest petroleum company, majority-owned by the Colombian government, with operations in exploration, production, refining, and transport of oil and gas in Colombia, Brazil, Peru, and the US Permian Basin. Founded in 1951, the company owns and operates Colombias two main refineries and most of the countrys oil and multipurpose pipelines through its subsidiary Cenit. Ecopetrol ranked 313th on the Forbes Global 2000 in 2020.
