About Ecophilic Scientific Research and Innovations (ESRI)

Ecophilic Scientific Research and Innovations (ESRI) is a mission-driven environmental research and conservation organisation dedicated to protecting Nigeria’s freshwater biodiversity, ecosystems, and riparian landscapes. Registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (RN 7341854), we conduct scientific research, ecological assessments, and conservation projects focused on freshwater and inland habitats. Our work spans biodiversity surveys, threatened species protection, water quality studies, and ecosystem restoration. We collaborate with communities, government agencies, and academic institutions to design sustainable solutions that balance human needs with environmental resilience. Through field research across diverse ecological zones, we have advanced understanding of Nigeria’s freshwater biodiversity, from the Ikogosi Warm Spring, and contributed to species discovery, habitat restoration, and pollution mitigation. Driven by science, collaboration, and integrity, Ecophilic champions evidence-based conservation that supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 15 (Life on Land). We are committed to building a future where Nigeria’s inland waters and biodiversity thrive for generations to come.
