About ECOS- Education, Communication, and Outreach Stakeholders community of the UNFCCC

We are a community officially recognized by the UNFCCC Secretariat as the “informal group” for education, communication, and outreach stakeholders. ECOS thereby provides a platform for these actors to engage collectively with the UN climate process , while also serving as a space to foster networking, collaboration, and capacity-building for anyone working within the broad umbrella of Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE). Our goals: Serve as a bridge between ACE implementation and ACE as it exists within the UNFCCC process; Provide a platform for an international “network of networks” for climate literacy and action; Foster a community of professional learners and change agents supporting informed, innovative climate action. Who is our community? Individuals whose work or passion relates to climate education, communication, or outreach, as well as any of the broader elements of ACE (training, awareness raising, public participation, etc). Organizations which are Admitted Observers of the UNFCCC which want to engage collectively on ACE in this process (e.g., through submissions, advocacy, relevant events, etc). Any other organizations or networks which are working on any of these topics, regardless of Observer status or not, who want to participate in networking and collaborative action on ACE.
