About EKOPDA-Research Center for Economic Policy, Governance and Development

The Research Center for Economic Policy, Governance and Development (EKOPDA) was founded in February 2018 on the initiative of Professor Emeritus of Macroeconomic Analysis and European Economic Integration Napoleon Maraveyas. It is part of the Section of International and European Studies, Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Athens. EKOPDA aims to study and research issues related to broader issues of economic policy, governance and development. Among its activities are included: • Undertaking and implementation of research, development and training programs. • Organization of scientific lectures, conferences, workshops and other related events. • Publication of the research it carries out, of scientific papers, and the maintenance of a website with content that belongs to the subject of the Research Center. • Cooperation with other Greek and foreign academic institutions and research centers. • Cooperation with international organizations, public services, Local Government Organizations and other bodies of the public and private sector in the country and abroad. • Support of doctoral candidates of the department who are preparing a doctoral dissertation on a subject that belongs to the subject of the Center, in particular by providing bibliographic material, financial support and granting of scholarships. • Publication of the scientific journal Region (Region & Periphery).
