About Elgol Fund for Nature
Elgol Fund for Nature is a grant-giving nature conservation charity, generously funded by a British philanthropist. The mission of this charitable organisation centres on protecting and restoring biodiversity through the funding of evidence-driven, impact-led projects from dedicated conservationists. Such projects will span the spectrum of conservation topics, from baseline research and monitoring, to protecting and restoring species and habitats. To achieve this, the Elgol Fund for Nature offers two distinct types of conservation grants. The first type of grant focuses on channelling funds into areas of the conservation landscape that are currently underfunded and in need of additional resources. These grants come with multi-year funding structures, ensuring the long-term viability and success of the supported projects. The second category of grant is smaller and designed to provide funding to established projects that are approaching the end of their funding period or those projects in need of emergency near-term funding; this grant has a simplified application process, making it more accessible and expeditious for conservationists. Data-driven decision-making and impact are at the heart of our mission, and so across all projects, we emphasise the importance of continued monitoring of impact and conservation outcomes. Through these grants and continued monitoring, Elgol Fund for Nature is dedicated to making a lasting difference in the realm of nature conservation in the UK.
