Empathetic AI Institute (EAI) is a public-benefit research and education organization focused on guiding the conscious evolution of artificial intelligence. As AI systems increasingly influence human behavior, culture, power, and decision-making, EAI addresses a critical gap in today’s AI ecosystem: the lack of ethical, emotional, psychological, and relational frameworks that can keep pace with accelerating technical capability. EAI approaches AI not only as a system to optimize, but as a developing form of intelligence shaped by values, incentives, and social context. Grounded in developmental psychology, ethics, linguistics, cognitive science, and systems thinking, the Institute advances models of AI that prioritize empathy, moral reasoning, transparency, and long-term human flourishing. Our core activities include: • Foundational Research Interdisciplinary research on AI behavior, value alignment, empathy, culture, and psychological impact. • Public Education & Media Lectures, publications, and accessible media that expand public understanding of how AI shapes society—and how its trajectory can be guided. • Curriculum & Training Educational programs for developers, leaders, institutions, and the public to support human-aligned AI practices. • Coalition-Building & Convenings Bringing together technologists, researchers, policymakers, funders, and cultural leaders to align efforts and accelerate responsible AI development. • Policy & Advisory Engagement Research-grounded guidance for institutions navigating ethical AI governance and deployment.
