About ESN Luzern (Erasmus Student Network)

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest volunteer student association in Europe. It was created to support and develop student exchange and youth mobility. It consists of more than 540 local sections in 42 countries working in +1000 Higher Educational Institutes (HEI). ESN is organized on a local, national and international level with approximately 15,000 active working members and is currently offering services to 350,000 international students. ESN Luzern is one of ESN Switzerland’s 14 local sections. We are operating at the HSLU, PH Luzern and Uni Luzern. We are here to welcome international students and to help them discover Switzerland, as well as promoting their integration among other students, exchange or locals. Our Goal is to boost our exchangies’ stay in Switzerland and to make it more enjoyable and easier for them. We provide advice to incoming exchange students before their arrival in Switzerland. We also offer a Buddy Program where they get paired with a local student who helps them with any questions during the semester. On top of that, we organize numerous cultural and festive activities, as well as sport events or other social gatherings, thus providing opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.
