About Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit

Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit is a partnership between Essex Police, Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, local councils, health service providers, probation, the voluntary sector and other local providers, all working together to reduce serious violence across the county. We have a strong focus on young people, children and families. Supporting them to live brighter, healthier and safer lives, free from crime and exploitation. We run bespoke projects, targeted communications and carry out research and evaluation to understand what works in serious violence reduction. We also fund some incredible projects across Southend, Essex and Thurrock. Projects who deliver targeted programmes within our communities. We work in prevention and intervention, with those who are known to the criminal justice system and those who, hopefully, through our work will never have that experience.
