About Estonian Traditional Music Center

The NGO Estonian Traditional Music Center is a nationwide, non-governmental organization that supports and organizes traditional music education and promotes the live performance of traditional music in an open and innovative manner. We believe that traditional music extends beyond the confines of home, both in live performances and as part of digital culture, without losing its authentic and tradition-based essence. Estonian Traditional Music Center organizes many events during the year and operates as a concert venue in Viljandi. Our biggest and most known event is Viljandi Folk Music Festival that attracts every year almost 25 000 people. The festival has become one of the largest of its kind in the Baltic and Nordic countries.
