About European Institute of International Studies

The European Institute of International Studies was founded in Salamanca, Spain, in 2008. In 2010, the institute relocated to Stockholm, Sweden, where it began its activities. Since 2017, it has been registered as a non-profit research and education association, becoming the first center in Northern Europe dedicated to the fields of international relations, diplomacy, and peace. The institute was created to revive the historical legacy of the School of Salamanca and to advance its contributions to the study of international relations, diplomacy, and peace. As a research and education center, the institute is focused on fostering knowledge in these areas. Its mission is to train proactive leaders who are committed to society and the creation of a better world. The institute offers an education grounded in values and principles, designed to equip students not only with the skills needed for their professional careers but also with a strong sense of social responsibility. Since its inception, the institute has established 7 academic chairs, secured 3 European projects, produced 47 publications, and trained over 500 diplomats. It has also organized 54 international conferences and participated in numerous presidential summits within the frameworks of the G20, European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, OECD, and United Nations. Our collaboration with international organizations reflects our commitment to advancing international relations, diplomacy, and peace. As an institute dedicated to these goals, we strive to contribute to building a better world. As the Constitution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization states, "Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed".
