About Faculty of Science, Lund University

At the Faculty of Science, we explore the physical world, from the smallest components of nature to climate systems and exoplanets. Our research enables the development of medicines, building materials and models that predict climate change. We conduct education and research at eight departments, or equivalent, gathered within the northern campus of Lund University, focusing on biology, physics, geology, chemistry, mathematics, environment, climate, medical radiation physics and physical geography. In addition to offering programmes at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level, the Faculty of Science has a clear mission to primarily conduct basic research, to lay the scientific foundation needed for more applied research. We also interact with the community through customised events aimed at schools and the general public.
