Mission: Our mission is to fill a critical gap by providing trauma-informed residential substance use disorder treatment for pregnant and parenting women in a warm, safe and supportive community. Vision: Our vision is to support lifelong health, healing and recovery for women, children, families, and communities by interrupting the inter-generational cycle of addiction. Expanding Need Families Flourish recognizes rural families and communities in central and northern New Hampshire have been severely impacted by our state’s substance use crisis yet have far less access to treatment than the more heavily populated southern part of our state. In 2020, the proportion of newborns born at Dartmouth-Hitchcock with prenatal substance exposure rose to 10.3%, in contrast to 6.7% for New Hampshire overall. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, rates of substance exposed pregnancies and the severity of maternal substance use have increased in the Upper Valley, as well as statewide. Unfortunately, treatment demand far exceeds supply. Organizational Focus FFNE is focusing on building a state-of-the-art residential treatment facility and clinical program equipped to house up to 14 women and their children. The organization is currently seeking funding for the renovation/construction of its future home in the Upper Valley of NH, with a goal of providing services by mid/late 2022. Families Flourish will provide residential services to women throughout New Hampshire and neighboring Vermont communities.
