About FAUNA Mental Health Foundation

F.A.U.N.A. stands for "Feeling Anxious, Upset, Nervous, or Angry", an acronym of common feelings that may remind you to use your therapeutic coping skills. Our goal is to develop open-source mental health resources for the Asian community, as well as to promote change in the way we bridge the Western model of therapy with non-Western mental health care. Much of Western therapy inadvertently has caused minority cultures to conform their needs to what society provides. At FAUNA, our mission is to meet the Asian Mental Health community where they are at in order to provide free to access, effective mental health tools and resources. With a team of passionate individuals - and a helping paw from Fauna - we are spearheading a movement to re-design the existing framework of therapy and mental health support to be more culturally literate.
