About Fellowship of Reconciliation Peace Presence

FOR Peace Presence is an international accompaniment organization that protects communities, human rights defenders, and environmental defenders in Colombia who are advancing peace, justice, and territorial rights through nonviolent strategies. We stand alongside grassroots leaders facing elevated risk, offering physical presence, political visibility, and long-term solidarity to strengthen their safety and their capacity for transformational change. Since 2002, we have maintained an uninterrupted physical presence in Colombia, accompanying communities and movements committed to building peace through nonviolent means. Today, we work with a range of partners across the country—including campesino, Afro-descendant, Indigenous, and environmental organizations—providing protective accompaniment, crisis response, and collaborative advocacy. Our model is built from the ground up: we work only at the invitation of communities, follow their leadership, and act as a bridge to national and international actors to increase protection, accountability, and attention to the structural causes of violence.
