About Femmes-Tische/Männer-Tische
Femmes-Tische and Männer-Tische are moderated discussion groups in over 20 languages. Participation is extremely low-threshold. The discussion groups take place at numerous locations throughout Switzerland; they are open to people with a migration background and to interested persons. Questions on around 25 topics related to family, health and integration are discussed. Participants receive important information on everyday issues, exchange ideas and strengthen their personal resources and social network. The Femmes-Tische/Männer-Tische programme is active at around 30 locations in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein and reaches over 12,000 people every year. The programme has received several awards for its innovation. It operates on the basis of a licensing system, and there are different sponsors for the locations. Femmes-Tische was founded in 1996 and expanded in 2014 with the men's programme. Thanks to its many years of experience, the organisation is now a centre of excellence for low-threshold education on migration issues and a national network: the NGO works with a wide range of specialised agencies, experts and key people from the communities of the migrant population and is in constant exchange with its 30 local partners, its sponsors and other organisations.
