PT FERG Geosains Indonesia (FGI) is a boutique subsurface research and consulting firm based in Bandung, Indonesia. We help energy teams make better subsurface decisions by combining rigorous scientific research, senior-led technical consulting, and hands on talent development. Our work spans petroleum, geothermal, and energy transition initiatives particularly CCS/CCUS. We support clients with: • Geological and geophysical interpretation • Petrophysics, reservoir characterization, and static modeling • Basin and petroleum system modeling (BPSM) • Geomechanics and rock mechanics (stress analysis and well integrity) • CCS/CCUS storage assessment and geothermal technical evaluation • Laboratory data interpretation and integrated subsurface analysis • Professional training, structured mentoring, and technical upskilling Founded in 2012 as the Formation Evaluation Research Group, FERG has grown into a research strengthened team led by PhD-level specialists and senior practitioners. We also collaborate with leading Indonesian institutions (e.g., ITB, Unpad, UPN, BRIN) to keep our workflows grounded in science and to help develop the next generation of geoscience talent.
