FECIMU was founded in 2021 as a point of convergence between cinema and multimedia art, fostering dialogue among disciplines that seek to expand the limits of audiovisual narrative. The screening spaces and the exchange among filmmakers and artists explore how artistic forms intersect, encouraging critical and creative reflection on the new horizons of cinema and contemporary art. The Festival’s objective is to promote the work of emerging filmmakers in fiction, documentary, and experimental fields, and to establish a dialogue between cinema and multimedia art, while connecting new artistic languages with emerging forms of audiovisual production and exhibition, thereby contributing to the formation of new audiences.
