About First Give

First Give is a charity that inspires and equips secondary school students to engage with and support their local community through social action, while also developing essential soft skills. First Give engages a whole year group in a fully-resourced, eight lesson programme. Students establish a social issue they care about, and plan and carry out social action to try and alleviate this in their local community. The students choose and meet with a local charity to find out about what they do. The programme culminates in a large event – our First Give facilitated School Final – where the groups of students aim to convince a panel of judges that their chosen charity deserves £1,000. The successful team wins £1,000 for their charity! You can find out more about First Give by visiting www.firstgive.co.uk or follow us on Twitter (@FirstGiveUK) or Facebook for all our latest news.
