Sarasota Rugby Club is a community-based sports team drawing from the greater Sarasota-Bradenton area. The club has experienced remarkable growth and success both on and off the field. After merging with the Sarasota International Cricket Club in the Fall of 2014, the club finally had a permanent practice and playing facility. This attracted new members and during the 2014/2015 season Surge finished an unbeaten League season and went on the win the division 3 Florida State Championship in 2016 for the first time in the club’s history. The Sarasota SURGE Rugby Club was founded in 2010 by a small group of International and American rugby players to fill the need for rugby in our area.
