About Fondazione Italiana Diabete ETS

Fondazione Italiana Diabete Ets (FID) is a private, independent non-profit organisation, fully committed to wiping out type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune, chronic, degenerative and incurable disease that mostly onset in childhood. We tackle our mission in various ways: by funding the most promising research into definitive cures through fundraising, advocating to institutions to promote measures that support research and spreading awareness about the condition. FID took the lead in promoting Law 130/2023 to the Italian government, making Italy the first country in the world to introduce a public health screening programme for type 1 diabetes and coeliac disease.
