Forty Mile Gas Co-op Ltd. is a member owned Natural Gas Utility Company, which was incorporated in 1973 by a group of founding directors that had a desire to bring Natural Gas service to the rural community at a reasonable cost. In forming a “Co-op” the cost is shared by all of its members and also benefits all of its members. Forty Mile Gas Co-op Ltd. currently has approximately 1800 members in its franchise area, and has been providing Natural Gas Service for over 40 years. On April 2, 2012 Forty Mile Gas Co-op Ltd. amalgamated with Chin Coulee Gas Co-op Ltd. which is located in Grassy Lake, Alberta making us the largest Natural Gas Co-op in Alberta.
