About Foster Europe Foundation for strong European Regions

The Foster Europe Foundation was established in Eisenstadt as a private and independent (non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental) foundation. In accordance with the Foundation's mission, Foster is dedicated to promoting the discourse on federalism, decentralisation and regions in Europe and Austria. Special attention is given to the Southeast European (Danube) Region. Here, the Foundation focuses on the promotion of organised civil society and structured participation, not least because of the lower level of decentralisation. For that purpose, the Foundation uses the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), one of the four EU macro-regional strategy (EU-MRS). The Foster Europe Foundation is committed to two areas of work: federalism and participation in European territorial policy in the Danube region.
