Innovating technology for conservation impact At FreakLabs, we design, build and deploy rugged, scalable technology solutions that empower conservationists, ecologists, researchers and land managers to collect and act on environmental data in the world’s most challenging landscapes. Our mission is to harness innovation and collaboration to develop tools that help understand, preserve and restore the natural world. We bring decades of expertise in hardware engineering, wireless communications, embedded systems, and product manufacturing to address real-world environmental challenges—from biodiversity monitoring to soil health, human-wildlife conflict, and non-lethal pest deterrence. Working closely with domain experts, NGOs, research institutes and global organizations, we ensure our technology is both affordable and built for purpose in remote, harsh field conditions. Our core innovations include the Baseliner product line: a modular, real-time wireless environmental monitoring platform that transmits field data directly to the internet for seamless integration and analysis, and the Boombox product line: a multi-modal automated behavioral response system for playback experiments in wildlife behavioral research and non-lethal audio and multi-modal deterrence. Beyond product development, we support long-term conservation impact through capacity building, consulting and data solutions, helping partners understand, maintain and scale technology deployments while transforming raw data into actionable insights.
