The Gaples Institute is a physician-led educational nonprofit with the mission of advancing nutrition education and practice in medicine. The Gaples Institute develops innovative nutrition education for both health professionals and the public. The Gaples Institute nutrition course for health professionals is distinguished as the course now required in the curriculum of 13 medical schools. The course, featuring a format that encourages active learning, has been vetted and highly reviewed by nationally recognized nutrition scientists and has been the subject of numerous peer-reviewed publications. The Gaples Institute learning programs for the public are built on a similarly engaging interactive platform and are all free of charge. Courses include a graphic-novel format interactive nutrition program for. young adults, a program on the intersection of personal and planetary health, and a more extensive active nutrition learning program for all ages.
