About Gardiner Houlgate

Under the leadership of David Hare & Jamie South, Gardiner Houlgate is one of the premier firms of auctioneers in the Country. We pride ourselves that we offer a personal, efficient, friendly and professional service. Auctioneering is reputed to be one of the oldest professions in the world and has been used by countless generations to establish and achieve the true market value of goods. It is a traditional profession based on trust and responsibility for other people’s possessions, a tradition which Gardiner Houlgate is proud to uphold. Unlike the archetypal provincial auctioneer, we have developed a range of specialist auctions, aimed at specific markets. With the use of modern information technology, dedicated mailing lists, live internet bidding, targeted advertising and social media marketing, we ensure our clients have access to the International markets where we have a strong established presence. We hold regular specialist auctions of Antique Furniture & Works of Art; Paintings; Watches and Clocks; Guitars & Musical Instruments; Jewellery; Decorative Arts; as well as Vintage & General sales. Our professional approach to these innovative auctions, together with our competitive charges enables us to offer an unrivalled specialist auction service. We are based in Corsham, close to Georgian Bath and the M4. Our 15,000sq ft purpose design building has four specialist salerooms, high security storage and ample free parking. The location was specifically chosen to allow easy access for our vendors and buyers, and our sales are regularly attended by national and international buyers as well as local collectors and enthusiasts.
