Throop Company started in 1921 as a feed and coal company, moved into building materials and continues today focusing mainly on on-site concrete production throughout the nationally in the United States. The Throop Company is typically a sub-contractor to a general contractor producing rapid set concrete and light weight concrete on construction jobs. They have produced concrete in Georgia, New York, California, Washington, Oregon, South Carolina and many other states. For concrete production the Throop Company uses on-site concrete mobile batch plants often called volumetric mobile concrete portable batch plant mixers. In remote or in high-density locations the Throop Company can produce Type II ready-mix cement in addition to unusual and unique concrete mix designs. They also specialize in cellular lightweight foam concrete. They are also experts with Rapid Set concrete (hardens in an hour) specializing in freeways, airports, bridges, freeway on-ramps, city streets and more where fast concrete production time is of the essence.
