About Geoscience Society of New Zealand

The Geoscience Society of New Zealand represents its community by providing collaborative leadership, advocacy and information to connect people and Earth sciences within Aotearoa New Zealand. We have over 700 members from universities, CRIs, industry and consultancies. Seven branches nationwide The Society has a network of branches throughout New Zealand. All our branches are lead by experienced and knowledgeable geologists and provide opportunities for learning and networking with like-minded individuals. Special Interest Groups Whether your interest lies in the history of the geosciences in Aotearoa New Zealand, geochemistry or volcanoes there's a Special Interest Group for you. SIGs offer an opportunity for like-minded members to connect across a common interest. Many have international connections.
