Gilliard and Company: Empowering Lives, Building Legacies Gilliard and Company (G&Co.) is a Georgia Independent Living Program rooted in the Pooler and Savannah community, focused on helping young adults who are aging out of the foster care system. Our work is centered on stability, opportunity, and providing youth with the real support they need as they transition toward adulthood. We believe every young person deserves guidance, connection, and the practical tools that help them stand on their own. Through our ILP, we offer housing support, permanency mentors, education planning, and real career pathways. We partner with schools, colleges, chambers of commerce, and local employers to create experiences that help young adults build confidence, skills, and long-term independence. Our Life Skills Lab is a core component of our work. Here, young adults learn essential skills for everyday life, including budgeting, financial literacy, family planning, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and decision-making. These sessions give them hands-on practice for the realities they’ll face once they transition beyond the foster care system. Community connection is a huge part of our mission. Our monthly FoodNetworking events bring local businesses and residents together to support young adults connected to the foster care system. These gatherings raise awareness, build relationships, and strengthen the community around the youth we serve. At G&Co., we focus on real progress, permanency, education, job readiness, emotional well-being, and long-term stability. We don’t believe in temporary fixes. We believe in building futures. Our vision is straightforward: to help young adults break the cycle of instability and step into a life where they feel supported, confident, and empowered. We’re here to help them discover their strengths, reach their goals, and start building the legacy they deserve.
