Led by Professor Dr Dionissios Kalivas, the GIS Research Unit, belongs to the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA). The team specializes in Geographical Information Systems, in Spatial and Geostatistical Analysis and in the use of Geospatial Technologies and Geoinformatics in digital agriculture, spatio-temporal precision agriculture, land resources assessment, modelling land use change, spatial impact of land use policies and in the development of spatial data bases and Web-GIS applications. GIS Research Unit organizes from 2015 the GIS Congress and Spatial Analysis in Agriculture and Environment (http://giscongress.aua.gr ). It supports educationally and at research level the MSc programs of the AUA Departments: Natural Resources Management & Agricultural Engineering and Crop Science.
