About Global Environmental Governance (GEG) Project
Based at the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, the Global Environmental Governance (GEG) Project is a collaborative initiative that brings together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to reimagine global environmental governance and build a more sustainable future. Our vision is advancing engaged scholarship that addresses real-world policy challenges. Co-founded in 1997 at the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy by then graduate student Maria Ivanova and Professor Daniel Esty the Global Environmental Governance (GEG) Project aims to connect students, faculty, and staff across diverse disciplines and regions. We regularly convene and host distinguished scholars and policymakers from around the world, fostering in-depth discussions on environmental policy, regulation, implementation, advocacy, and justice. At the GEG Project Team, we are dedicated to shaping policy and driving meaningful conversations. Through our advocacy efforts and strategic engagement, we work to influence decision-making processes and spark dialogue on critical global environmental governance issues.
