About Go Green Youth Centre

Go Green Youth Centre (GGYC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering children and youth through the transformative power of sports and education. We offer a variety of free programs designed to support the growth and development of young people in the neighbourhood improvement areas of Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park. We believe in creating conditions for youth to thrive through the transformative framework of the 6 C’s of Positive Youth Development. By fostering Competence, Confidence, Connection, Character, Caring, and Contribution, we take a holistic approach to helping young people unlock their full potential and create meaningful change in their communities. GGYC began as a grassroots initiative in 2010, born from a community’s desire to uplift and support young people. Officially incorporated as a federally recognized not-for-profit in 2012, our early efforts focused on revitalizing Valley Park Middle School’s schoolyard. This ambitious project culminated in the creation of Canada’s first illuminated cricket and multi-sport field, a symbol of our commitment to fostering inclusive recreational spaces.
