About Good Folk
Founded by Helen and James from The Good Stuff, we bring together experienced agencies and independent specialists who each donate a small amount of time every month. Our aim is simple: help charities tackle specific challenges, improve work already in progress, or unblock decisions that are slowing them down. Support is practical and time-bound - usually up to 3-4 hours. It can be advisory or hands-on, but it’s always designed to be useful quickly. No long projects. No strings. Good Folk is primarily for smaller charities, typically with an annual income under £300k. It’s most useful where teams are small, roles overlap, and external expertise feels out of reach or disproportionate. We work a bit like a dating service. Charities submit a short brief outlining the issue they’re facing. We review it and match them with a suitable specialist from the collective. The support we offer is: - Voluntary and unpaid - Small in scope and clearly defined - Agreed directly between the charity and the volunteer If you’re a charity: Visit our landing page and complete the short intake form. We’ll review your request and respond within three working days. If you’re a potential volunteer: We’re always open to experienced specialists who can contribute a small amount of time each month.
