Many investors tend to be incentivised by fear or greed in trough or peak markets respectively. As a result these investors are being overwhelmed by book gains and are driven by fear when they sell positions in a loss making portfolio. These investors don't care about fair company values but are eager to buy quality companies or to invest based on market rumours.
