About Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, one of the few air ambulances in the country to work to the Gold Standard Critical Care Model. Put simply it means we are a flying Emergency Department transporting a Specialist Paramedic in Critical Care and a Consultant Doctor to the scene of an incident or medical emergency. The GWAAC Critical Care Team cover Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and parts of Wiltshire. A population of 2.1 million people. The team are operational seven days a week, 365 days a year and attend over 6 incidents per day on average. We are one of the busiest air ambulances in the UK. We receive no government or national lottery funding so completely rely on the communities we serve to help us raise over £4 million each year, so we can be there when people need us.
