About Greentech For Women (GFW)

Greentech for Women is an advocacy-driven initiative working at the nexus of gender equality, climate action, and clean energy. We promote and advance eco-feminist project models, gender mainstreaming, and inclusiveness in the clean energy sector—not just at the program level, but also within policy and institutional frameworks. We champion alternative technology promotion and transfer, amplify youth-led innovations, and connect grassroots solutions to high-level policy dialogues with decision-makers, members of Parliament, ministers, and heads of state. Our advocacy ensures women and young people are not treated as token beneficiaries but as co-creators of solutions. Our current flagship advocacy focuses on the biogas plant model—a proven solution that reduces carbon emissions, deforestation, and women’s health risks from smoke inhalation, while generating gas and electricity from cow dung. The plant’s by-products support organic farming, fish farming, and women-led enterprises producing sanitary items “by women, for women, for the environment.” This innovation frees girls from unpaid labor like fuelwood collection, enabling them to attend school, while providing women with financial independence, better health outcomes, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Greentech for Women’s work has been showcased at the COP26 Resilience Hub, The College of New Jersey, Woodcraft Folk UK, and the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations during the UN Commission on the Status of Women. We bridge the gap between research, expert knowledge, and digital content creation, using Media and Information Literacy (MIL) to counter misinformation on SRHR, climate, and gender. We believe attention is currency—and we channel it toward credible, expert-backed solutions that drive lasting change. From grassroots to global—we are building a gender-responsive climate future.
