GCYO's mission is to impact the lives of young people through music by providing a quality orchestral program that develops and educates young musicians, one in which they learn the art of performance, enhance personal musicianship, and prosper as individuals. GCYO has been educating young musicians for over 40 years! It began in the 1970s as the orchestra program of the Greenville County School district. We are still the afterschool orchestras program for the school district but now we have close to 300 students enrolled in our 5 ensembles. Each orchestra provides outstanding age and skill level appropriate musical challenges. GCYO’s outreach and education programs impact over 800 young people each year.
