Grit City Books is Tacoma’s next-generation queer-owned indie bookstore, dedicated to fostering a diverse community united by the joy of reading and learning. Since opening our doors in 2024, we have built more than a bookstore. We have created a safe, inclusive space where people connect through stories, curiosity, and community. In addition to our retail storefront, we partner with schools, nonprofits, and businesses to bring books to more readers. Our services include book fairs, curated libraries, and values-aligned sourcing that helps organizations provide meaningful access to books without sacrificing professionalism or efficiency.
