About Grumman|Butkus Associates

Grumman|Butkus Associates (GBA) is a nationally recognized consulting engineering firm that specializes in mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services and energy and resource consulting for buildings. From our founding over 50 years ago as a consulting firm with an exclusive focus on energy conservation, we have evolved into a full-service MEP firm with a sustainability mission. Our innovative engineers provide building owners and operators with services that result in high performing, energy- and resource-efficient buildings and facilities. Our extensive experience with energy-intensive, mission critical facilities has led to our leadership position in both the healthcare and laboratory markets. While our designs are sensitive to sustainability and energy efficiency, our correlative services, including commissioning and retro-commissioning, energy and resource benchmarking, energy conservation studies, MEP infrastructure planning and upgrades, LEED consulting, and computerized building modeling, are aimed at improving and maintaining the performance and efficiency of systems throughout the entire lifetime of a building or facility.

Founded in 1973 by Alexander S. Butkus and David L. Grumman.
