About Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue
With a very small management team, a leased kennel facility as of 7/1/22, a small foster network and a volunteer base that we are continuing to grow, we have on average 130-140 animals in our care. We do not shy away from the major medical cases, the hard to adopt dogs or longer-term rehabilitation cases. We don't discriminate on age, gender, breed, size. We have everything from newborns to seniors and Yorkies to Pitbulls to Great Danes in our care. With the exception of some paid kennel cleaners and outsourced training, we are a volunteer run rescue. The homeless, neglected and abused animal situation in south Florida is in crisis with shelters and rescues overwhelmed and over-capacity and we fight every day to do whatever we can to help these animals in need. The majority of our animals are truly homeless (strays, abandoned, dumped) and come from stray rescue or from municipal shelters. Other sources include backyard breeder/hoarder confiscation cases and we also accept owner surrenders when space allows as well. By the end of 2023, we will have saved over 1000 animals in the short time since our inception in April of 2021. We rely on donations, adoption fees and occasional grants to support our animals.
