About Gwen Lily Research Foundation

The lack of cultural competency in clinical research and healthcare has exacerbated disparities, exposing the need to enhance cultural understanding and inclusivity within healthcare systems. Gwen Lily Research Foundation was established to promote scientific discovery, enhance understanding of disease onset and progression, and develop treatments in culturally appropriate ways for the target population, particularly those conditions that impact Veterans and other marginalized, disenfranchised, or underserved communities. Gwen Lily Research Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization proud to support our community members by connecting them with the resources they need to be successful, and providing opportunities to engage in research that will have a lasting impact. WHAT WE DO Connect researchers, physicians, and patients to develop and conduct culturally sensitive, community-engaged research. WHY? To increase the representation of diverse and underrepresented populations in clinical studies, while advocating for community needs that improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities. These actions translate research into meaningful health improvements for all communities.
