About Habitat For Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area

Driven by the belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area (HFHGCA) works to combat poverty through affordable housing. Since 1986, HFHGCA has partnered with families in need to build and repair homes, helping them achieve stability and self-reliance. Homeowners contribute "Sweat Equity," working alongside volunteers to build their homes and paying affordable, zero-interest mortgages. As part of its mission, HFHGCA also operates the ReStore, a discount store selling building materials and home goods at 50-75% off retail prices. By providing a hand up, HFHGCA helps families create stronger, healthier communities. For more information, visit www.habichatt.org. HFHGCA has been at work in Chattanooga since 1986, and is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
